Richard McKinley Demonstration

Richard McKinley, will provide a pastel painting demonstration held in conjunction with the opening of the Shades of Pastel National Open Exhibition.

Where: The Mansion at Strathmore, Music Room (not the Music Center), 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852

When: 10:00-12:00, Sunday October 4, 2009

How to sign up:  Enrollment will be limited to the first 50 people who respond to this call.  Send a check for $35 made out to MPS to:

About Richard McKinley:

Richard McKinley, our juror for this exhibition, is an acclaimed landscape painter and one of the most popular instructors of pastel in the U.S. In addition to giving workshops and demonstrations, Richard is a frequent contributor to the Pastel Journal and he wrties a blog on all issues related to pastel at: He is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a Distinguished Pastelist with the Pastel Society of the West Coast.

A native of the Rogue Valley in Oregon, Richard now lives in Milford, OR, painting that area as well as New Mexico and the California Coast. A dedicated plein air painter, Richard also work in oils.  For more information and examples of his beautiful landscapes, see his web site: .
