Dolores M. Andrew will be teaching a pastel Workshop for the Rehoboth Art League on  July 29-30, and 31. the Subject will be flowers.Title :Flower Power in Pastel"  Hours are 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM each day.

Robert Borrell was juried into Maryland Federation of Art Members Summer Exhibition this past Tuesday and received an Honorable Mention for his pastel entry "K" at Bennies Landing". The works are on display June 17th thru July 10th, 2011, in Annapolis.

Jean Hirons has been invited to participate in Pastels By Invitation 2011 at the Creative Arts Center , Chatham , MA , Aug. 4-Sept. 2, The show includes work from “an intimate group of nationally recognized pastelists.”  In addition to her class at Montgomery College , Jean will be teaching a plein air class on Fridays during most of September and October. Susan Klinger received the Lee Award at the 7th Annual Northeast National Pastel Exhibition for her pastel, Coconut Palm II. The NNPE is held at the Arts Center in Old Forge, NY

JoEllen Murphy's painting "Grand Avenue" was awarded third place in the third annual Maryland Mountain plein air festival in Cumberland MD the first week in June.

Joyce Turk will be hosting a solo show of her paintings of wild lives, land escapes, barn and back yard animals at the Yellow Barn Gallery, Glen Echo, MD July 30-31. The Gallery is open Saturday and Sunday, 12-6 p.m. and a reception is scheduled for 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30. The public is cordially invited. This event is held in cooperation with the National Park Service and the Glen Echo Partnership for Arts and Culture.
