Spring MPS Newsletter and Meeting Reminder

MPS members,

The Spring edition of the Shades of Pastel Newsletter is now available on our website.  This edition features the program for our upcoming meeting at the Howard County Arts Center on Saturday, April 19th from 12:00-4:00.  Lynn Goldstein will be the featured speaker and there will be a display of plein air equipment. So I hope that many of you can make it.  There are also featured stories on artist Phil Bennet and Jack Pardues workshop.

A big thanks to Lynn, our newsletter editor, for redesigning the newsletter to give it a look more in keeping with our new website.  The newsletter is easily available via the website (www.marylandpastelsociety.com) in Adobe acrobat format, and can be accessed by clicking on newsletter and then clicking on the PDF icon for the spring edition. The Adobe software needed to read the PDF is available for free download.

In addition, Lynn, who is also a graphic designer, is designing a new full color brochure for the Society (we are keeping her very busy!!!).  Along with text explaining the Societys purpose and activities, we will want to include many images to illustrate the broad spectrum of subject matter and styles that are encompassed within our Society.  For this purpose we are calling for images from our full members in TIFF format (300 dpi for high resolution for printing). You may send two images to Lynn on CD (TIFF images generally cannot be sent via email). The deadline for images is April 26th.  Lynn will have the final say on what images are included, based on what will make an attractive brochure.  Send images to: Lynn Goldstein, 7823 Thornfield Court, Fairfax Station, VA 22039.

I hope to see many of you at the meeting, and, as always, dont forget to bring those food donations!
