CALL FOR ENTRIES - MPS MEMBER'S ONLY JURIED EXHIBITION

The Maryland Pastel Society will hold a Juried Members Only show at the Dennis & Phillip Ratner Museum, 10001 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, Maryland, from December 31, 2008 through January 28, 2009. All members of the Maryland Pastel Society, full and associate, are invited to submit work for selection by Juror Joe Fitzgerald. He will select a maximum of 45 works for this show.

All selected work will be hand-delivered to the Ratner Museum; the Museum will not accept shipped work. The Museum will insure the work on site for the duration of the show and does not take commission on sales.

About Our Juror
Joe Fitzgerald is a painter in pastels and oil and a printmaker. His art is in a number of private and public collections, including several American embassies abroad. He is listed in Whos Who in America and Whos Who in American Art. His work is shown at the Foxhall Gallery in Washington, D.C.  
His designs were chosen for the obverse and the reverse of the 2005 nickel celebrating the Lewis & Clark expedition. He is only the 23rd person in the history of the United States to have designed both sides of a circulating coin - and the only one still alive.

Notification letters mailed: November 28, 2008
Work to be delivered: Monday, December 29, 1:00pm to 3:00pm
    Show opens: Wednesday, December 31
    Opening Reception: Sunday, January 11, 2009, 1:30 to 3:30pm
    Show closes/pick-up of work: Wednesday, January 28, 2009
