Rana Geralis, will be exhibiting some of her equestrian pastels at the Artist's Gallery in Columbia, MD., March 30-May 1. The opening reception is April 3, 6:00-8:00pm. She will be teamed with Jerry Weinstein, a photographer, who will have photos of birds. The title of the show is Horsefeathers. The gallery is located in the American City Building, 10227 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, MD., 21044. Betsy Goldsborough, will be showing a selection of pastel landscape paintings at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7601 York Road, Towson, MD beginning March 1. The artists reception will be held on Sunday, April 19, 12:00 - 2:00 pm. This is a two-person show along with Dex Westphal whose charming watercolor and acrylic paintings of downtown scenes will be shown.

Linda Harrison-Parsons, "The Secret Life of Trees" Opening Earth Day, April 22, reception 5:00-9:00 PM at National Conservation Training Center, Conservation Way, Sheperdstown, WV. The evening includes a special short film "The Queen of Trees" showing at 7PM. The exhibit runs through May. Jean Hirons, was one of three featured artists at the South Street Gallery in Easton, MD in March. Jean will also give a five-day workshop at Strathmore Hall in conjunction with the Shades of Pastel National Juried Show this coming fall. The workshop will be held on five consecutive Fridays, Oct. 9-Nov. 6, from 10:00-3:00 each day.  The cost of the workshop is $250 with a $15 materials fee.  All levels are welcome.  Jean will be teaching several techniques using different supports and subject matter. Joan Howe, won first place  for one of her pastel portraits in the Human Form Competition at the Kent Island Federation of Art.  

Pat Kagan, is now represented by Agora Gallery in New York, and will be showing her work there from March 21 until April 10, 2009.  There will be a reception on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  

Gayle Mangan Kassal, won an honorable mention in the Pastel 100 Competition for Pastel Magazine to be displayed in the April Edition. The piece selected was "A Moment in Time"  40" x  60".

Susan Klinger, will be part of a 3-person show, Places, Faces & Tastes at the  Country Creek Winery in Telford, PA  on May 30 & 31 from 12:00 -5:00 pm.  She  will also be participating in the group show Sand & Surf at Hardcastle Gallery in Centreville, DE from June 6 - 28.  Opening reception is June 5 , 5:30 - 8:30 PM.   Susan also had a pastel painting accepted into the Northeast National Pastel Exhibition to be held in Old Forge, NY from June 13 - July 11.

Deborah Maklowski, is thrilled to announce that she has finally retired from the Federal Government, after 30 years of service, and is ecstatically looking forward to her new career as a full-time artist. Her last one-person show at her agency was in February 2009; she was fortunate enough to sell 12 of the 40 pastel and colored pencil works included.

Michael McGurk, will have a solo show with thirty-four paintings at the Fluvanna County Community Center in Fork Union Va. during the months of March and April. He also has a solo show at the New Dominion Book Store in Charlottesville Va. from April 1 until April 30.

Lisa Mitchell, was juried into the 5th Plein Air Easton Competition and Arts Festival, July 20 through July 26, 2009. Kay Sandler's pastel "Poppy Power" was juried into the Maryland Federation of Art's 32nd Annual Art of Paper Exhibition which will be on display at the Circle Gallery in Annapolis from March 6 through April 15th. Kay is having a Solo Exhibition at the River Road Unitarian Church in Bethesda during the month of March. Kay's "Orange Poppy" was selected by Juror Judy Morris for the Watercolor Art Society-Houston's 32nd International Juried Exhibition in Houston during March.  "Poppy Play" was selected by Frank Francese for the BWS Mid-Atlantic show at Strathmore April 11- May 23. Kay's pastel "Rose of Sharon #3" was juried into the Laurel Art Guild's 40th Annual Open Juried Show, also in March.  

Renata Vaccari, was awarded 3rd place for the pastel category at the 34th annual Community Art Show of the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase, MD on March 27th. She also sold a painting.
