Sandy Askey-Adams was honored to have her work featured in the Pastel Journal’s February 2012 issue. In the article, "A River Runs Through It," she is one of three artists who offer tips on painting water in the landscape.

Bob Borrell was recently accepted as a signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society. He also won "Best of Show " in the annual Teachers/Student Exhibit, York Art Association, York PA. The painting, titled "I Spy," is a mixed media piece on gessoed board, a culmination of his first venture into abstract painting. Coming up in February he is one of twelve artists exhibiting at the "Members’ Melange Exhibit - Part I" at the Maryland Federation of Art, Annapolis, MD.

Muriel Ebitz won second prize for her pastel "What a Beautiful Day" at the Rockville Art League exhibit at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville, Maryland.

Lieta Gerson won an honorable mention for her pastel painting "Purple Canyon" at the Olney Art Association exhibit at the Woodlawn Mansion in Olney, Maryland.

Mary Ellen Gordon took first place at the Senior Artists Alliance Multi-Media Show judged by Millie Shott at the Friendship Heights Gallery,for her painting, "Riot" at Centennial Lake.

Fleur Grabow was the Maryland Federation of Art's Artist of the Month for December. The Italian paintings from her stay in Umbria in September were exhibited at La Piccola Roma Restaurant in Annapolis. She spent Christmas painting in the Cotswolds. Her Wintry Cotswolds paintings will be in the Maryland Federation of Art's Melange I Group Show at the Circle Gallery in Annapolis from February 21. She will be painting in Madrid and Andalusia in April.

Carol Iglesias has been selected to be the Artist in Residence in April in the beautiful little town of Dinan, France.

Barbara Kirchner had three miniatures accepted into the 2011 Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society at Strathmore Hall.

Deborah Maklowski had two pastels accepted into the IAPS 2011 Web Exhibition, and one of the three miniatures accepted into the 2011 Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society International Exhibition at Strathmore Hall was awarded First Place in the Drawing category.

JoEllen Murphy won a merit award for her painting "Morning Dunes" at the Out and About Norfolk plein air competition in late October 2011.She will have twelve paintings on exhibit at NIH in the West Gallery, March thru May, 2012.

Regina Price won an honorable mention for her pastel "Maryland Countryside" at the Rockville Art League exhibit at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville, Maryland.

Renata Vaccari won an honorable mention for her pastel "Hurry Inside" at the Rockville Art League exhibit at the Glenview Mansion, Rockville, Maryland.
