Maryland Pastel Society

Brighton Dam Azalea Garden in Howard County

Hello MPS Members,

This coming Friday, May 1 there is a Maryland Pastel Society paint out scheduled at the Brighton Azalea Garden in Howard County. Deborah Maklowski, is the coordinator of this event, debmak@comcast.net.

Directions to Brighton Garden:
From Columbia / Route 29, take Route 108 WEST
Move to the right lane as you approach the intersection with Rt. 32, but do not get onto Rt. 32
Immediately after passing the ramps to Rt. 32, go RIGHT onto Ten Oaks Rd (the right-hand lane is a right turn only lane onto Ten Oaks)
At the fork, bear LEFT onto Brighton Dam Road; go about 3 miles
Immediately after crossing the dam, turn LEFT into the parking lot of the Visitors' Center

The first week of May the azaleas are in full bloom and absolutely spectacular! I was fortunate to paint at this location last year and it was truly amazing. You will find dappled pathways meandering through mature azaleas...an artists paradise.

Please join us for this paint out and bring along all of those bright pinks, oranges and purple pastels that don't often get put to use!

Also, there are 5 spots left for the wine and cheese Paint Along in Baltimore County on May 16. Let me know if you're interested in attending, lisa@lisamitchellstudio.com.

Thanks so much and I hope to see you there!
