PASTEL CLASS IN EASTON

Mary Pritchard will be returning to Easton Studio & School to teach a 6-week pastel class, November 2 - December 14, 2010.  Mary will share with you her love of this medium while exploring its limitless opportunities, spontaneity and flexibility.   Powers of Pastel - MARY PRITCHARDTuesdays 9:00 am - 12:00 pm6 weeks, Nov. 2 through Dec.14 (No class on Nov. 23)$210 For Intermediate - Advanced Students. Designed for students with at least basic pastel experience, Mary will help you take your pastels to the next level.  This class offers the opportunity to acquire a variety of pastel techniques while strengthening composition and color mixing.  You will learn to take full advantage of this medium's flexibility and speed.  Using still life and landscape subject matter, you will explore blocking, hatching, glazing and scumbling as well as various underpainting techniques.  Students will learn to use their value studies as powerful composition tools.  This class will include lectures, demos, and individual critiques as students create many small pastel pieces during the class period.  Click here for supply list   www.marypritchardart.com Mary Pritchard - Bio: Following a career in education administration at the University of Delaware, Mary returned to painting full-time and is an award-winning pastel artist. She received her B.A. in studio art from Mt. Holyoke College an holds a Masters degree in both art and journalism. Known for her landscapes of the Eastern Shore, Mary credits pastel as the perfect medium for the traveling artist.
