Plein Air Pastel Demonstration by Kim Lordier
IF YOU PLAN TO GO SEE KIM LORDIER'S OPEN DEMO AT THE BOMBAY HOOK NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE ON FRIDAY, MAY 11, HERE ARE THE DETAILS!
The demo will START AT 9:00 AM and will take place BETWEEN TOUR STOPS 7 AND 8, which are on the loop around Bear Swamp Pool.
The address for the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is 2591 Whitehall Neck Road, Smyrna, DE. That address will work with a GPS or with GoogleMaps or MapQuest to give you directions to the Refuge.
We've made the auto-tour map available for download, below: page 5 will show you where the tour stops are located along the driving route within the Refuge. You can also get the auto-tour map on the Bombay Hook website.
- Front-row seating will be reserved for the workshop students; seating behind the front row will be on a first come, first served basis .
- Cost for the demo is $40 per person, and there is a $4 per car/per day admission charge to enter the Refuge. That $4 fee covers the driver and 3 adult passengers, so, given the limited parking and the distance, we strongly encourage you to team up and carpool!
- You do not need to sign up in advance. You may pay the demo fee (cash and checks only, no credit cards) when you arrive to MPS workshop coordinator Joyce Lister.
- Bring a folding chair or camp stool, a sun hat, water, a snack, a note- or sketchbook, pencil or pen, sunblock, and bugspray. We've heard that there are ticks in the area, so be sure to wear long, light-colored pants -- light-colored clothing will help you spot any critters trying to hitch a ride -- with socks and closed shoes.
